Layers of burnt orange, ochre and dusty pink evoke sun-baked earth beneath a hazy sky, while scattered trees punctuate the open landscape. Through expressive mark-making and textured layers, I’ve sought to capture not a literal place, but the feeling of being immersed in this ancient, sun-drenched country.
